Tayrona National Park

Day 1

Now about two hours in, mostly uphill, we were ready for a little break

The sun low on the horizon we knew that this was a one-time spectacle for us.

Clouds of moisture gathering at those peaks, while many of us just were wet with sweat and would have welcomed a sprinkle of cooling rain

A rest stop with welcome refreshments

A camp for locals and their mules

There was our destination, and incidentally, the home of Ruth's family

Following a swim in the local waterhole, a meal, a beer for some, coca leaf tea for others, some stories, a shower - sleep with a 0500 wake-up
